A top grade “Sofu” (Blue Wind) sencha from the Moriuchi farm in Shizuoka prefecture, Japan.
This loose leaf tea is crafted from a new Japanese varietal first planted 8-10 years ago and now reaching perfect maturity. It has the scent of a new wind moving through the forest – the fresh, clean wind of Spring.
It starts with a wonderfully silky, grassy flavour and then reveals surprising citrus notes of grapefruit and lemon. Later the flavour becomes more vegetal with a smooth buttery mouthfeel leading to muscat grapes, lychee and the floral aromas of honeysuckle.
